After visiting the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, and walking around seeing the sights of the Poncey Highland neighborhood, I found myself hungry and thirsty. If you have followed along this website, you know I am trying to visit every brewery in Atlanta. I decided to stop at New Realm Brewing for lunch.

Given New Realm has both a brewery and restaurant, it seem like the perfect place to visit. It was only a few blocks from my stroll along the Freedom Park Trail, so it was an easy stop.

My first impression of this brewpub was that it was enormous. Given the location, I can see the place filling up on the weekends given that it is right next to the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta Beltline.

The New Realm Brewery and Restaurant

This brewpub is very large. When you walk in from the parking lot or from the Atlanta Beltline, the first thing you notice is a very large patio and deck space. Most of the area has plenty of shade, making this the perfect spot to enjoy the fantastic Atlanta weather and enjoy some pints.

Inside, there is a large bar and a dining space.

Upstairs there is a second bar area that opens up to a rooftop bar with views of the city and the trail. It seems like the perfect place to rent for a special event or birthday party.

One thing to note, if you plan to park in the lot, it is shared with multiple businesses and there is a small parking fee.

The Food At New Realm

On my quest for finding the best burger in Atlanta, I have realized that many of these breweries have amazing burgers.

I ordered the New Realm burger to confirm my theory.

Just as the burger at Jekyll and Bold Monk were amazing, I think this one at New Realm is just as good, if not better.

This double patty burger is made from a blend of chuck, brisket and short rib. It is topped with slices of delicious and salty white cheddar. The pickles and special sauce provide a nice sweetness to the burger. I added bacon to my burger.

On the side, I choose a Cesar salad instead of the fries. The salad was excellent also. The lettuce was crisp and fresh and the dressing was evenly coated, and tasted homemade.

The Beer at New Realm Brewing

I ordered two beers. The bar tender suggested their best selling IPA to start with, the Hazy Like a Fox. This beer is a juicy and citrus tasting IPA. It is excellent, but it didn’t taste distinguished enough from all the other hazy IPA’s out there. Don’t get me wrong, I would regularly drink this IPA if there was distribution, I just didn’t think it was unique.

My second beer Belgian style golden Ale. It was light and sweet, reminiscent of a Leffe blonde. It was perfect for a hot Atlanta day.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to New Realm Brewing Company. I loved the brewpub, the location and all the outdoor space. The beers were above average and the burger was amazing. I will definitely make a return visit.

New Realm Brewing Company is located at 550 Somerset Terrace NE #101, Atlanta, GA 30306
