Little Five Points is a neighborhood in Atlanta that is wedged between Inman Park, Edgewood, Poncey-Highlands and Candler Park. While it is a small section of town in Atlanta, it deserves its own post due to how eclectic and unique this neighborhood is.

In Little Five Points, you will find great restaurants and unique shops. For instance, there are vinyl record shops, thrift shops, and tattoo parlors. There is also an indie radio station, live music venues and more.

Little Five Points is known for being alternative, hipster and bohemian. It is a melting pot of cultures!

It is a neighborhood you don’t want to miss, when visiting Atlanta. At a minimum, at least stop by the Vortex and enjoy one of the best burgers in Atlanta.

Little Five Points Brief History

This commercial district was originally planned to serve the adjacent neighborhoods of Inman Park and Candler Park.

The area worsened in the 60’s when a highway was being proposed and people moved out of the area.

Inman Park gentrified and many of the old Victorian mansions were restored. Eventually, more investment continued into Little Five Points in the 80’s.

Little Five Points Name Origin

The name origin for the Little Five Points neighborhood go back to when there was a five point intersection. Moreland Ave runs north/south, while Euclid Ave runs east/west. Previously there was a fifth intersection or point, where Gregory L. Davis plaza is today.

The term little was used so as not to confuse with the other five point intersection in downtown Atlanta.
