From the renovated African Savanna to the Panda exhibit, the Zoo in Atlanta, Georgia has a lot of entertainment value, close within the city limits.
Towards the end of your trip to the Atlanta Zoo, you will find the petting zoo. The petting zoo has all of your kids favorite farm animals, for them to pet.

Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary
Within the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, you will find the Petting Yard. You are able to purchase feeding cups from the gift shop and your little ones can feed a variety of animals like sheep, goats, donkeys and alpaca.

Petit Creek Farms
Petit Creek Farms is the perfect place to schedule one of your children’s birthday celebration. The birthday parties at the farm include 2 hours of fun at the farm complete with pony rides and a petting zoo.

Tanglewood Farm Miniatures
While this place has been closed due to flooding, it is a wonderful farm for the kids to interact with 150 rare, heritage and miniature breed therapy farm animals. The kids also loved the wild west themed town. Please call ahead to see if they are open to the public when you are planning your visit.

North Georgia Wildlife Park
There are so many animal experiences available, it would be too much to list. For most of the interactions, your child needs to be at least 8 years old and there are additional fees on top of general admission. If they are not that old, no worries, there is a petting farm that they can meet the animals. They can interact with miniature and rare breeds of farm animals and even tortoises or parakeets.
They also have one of the best drive thru safari’s near Atlanta. The drive thru experience is only offered on certain days of the week and during certain hours of the day. Be sure to call ahead or visit their website to get the most up to date times for the drive thru safari.

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve & Zoo
If your child is 10 and wants to feed a tiger, they can, at a steep price. Lots of animals are available to feed and touch. Feed bags are available for purchase. We purchased one for $10 and it lasted the day.
