If you love live music, Atlanta has some amazing concert venues to explore. Some of them are indoor, with amazing acoustics. While others are outdoor amphitheaters, great for when the weather is nice.

Either way, you will enjoy seeing your favorite bands or comedians at these concert venues near Atlanta.

While it is impossible to name every little bar or night club with live music, we are trying to document as many music venues as we can find, from big to small.

Mercedes Benz Stadium

Neighborhood: Downtown Atlanta

Located in the Centennial Park district of downtown Atlanta, The Mercedes Benz Stadium is home to the Falcons and Atlanta United home games.

This Atlanta concert venue hosts the biggest stars on the planet. Yes, think Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

The reason being, this stadium is very large and can fit over 50,000 fans.

Many of the concerts that occur here will have multiple nights of shows.

The Mercedes Benz stadium is located at 1 AMB Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30313


State Farm Arena

Neighborhood: Downtown Atlanta

While slightly smaller in capacity than Mercedes Benz, the State Farm Arena hosts larger concerts for 10’s of thousands of fans. That is, when there is not an Atlanta Hawks home game.

Although this venue has an infrequent schedule for concerts, it attracts some of the largest music performers in the world.

Truist Park

Neighborhood: The Battery

While this is the home of the Atlanta Braves, they do offer concerts from time to time from some of the biggest musicians out there.

Typically is is reserved for large acts and usually only when the weather if nice, since it is outside.

Truist Park is located at 755 Battery Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30339

Ameris Bank Amphitheatre

Neighborhood: Alpharetta

Located in Alpharetta, the Ameris Bank Amphitheater is an amazing outdoor concert venue near Atlanta. It hosts concerts all summer long from some of the biggest musicians.

The amphitheater has capacity for over 12,000 fans. Closer to the stage has reserved seating. There is also lawn seating around the outside of the amphitheater.

This is a favorite spot for musicians like Phish, Dave Mathews and some of the biggest country stars like Chris Stapleton and Darius Rucker.

Ameris Bank Ampitheatre is located 2200 Encore Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30009


The Tabernacle

Neighborhood: Downtown Atlanta

The Tabernacle in Atlanta is a historic venue that served as a church until 1994 when the congregation decided to sell it.

In 1994 it was purchased and converted into a House of Blues, primarily for entertainment during the Olympics held in Atlanta in 1996.

Nowadays’ it is one of the live nation music venues in Atlanta.

It is one of our favorite medium sized music venues that attracts some great musicians. The capacity is a little of 2,500 which means everyone has a great view of the show.

The Eastern

Neighborhood: Reynoldstown

The eastern music venue in reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta

The Eastern is a newer concert venue in Atlanta, located in the Reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta.

This concert venue has a capacity of about 2,300, making it a great size for everyone in attendance to see the act up close.

This venue also has a rooftop restaurant and stage.

The Eastern is located at 777 Memorial Dr SE Building C, Atlanta, GA 30316


Coca Cola Roxy

Neighborhood: The Battery

Located in The Atlanta Battery, the Coca Cola Roxy is right next to Atlanta Braves Stadium. At a capacity of around 3,600, it is a great medium sized venue that attracts popular musicians and comedians.

There really isn’t a bad seat in the house and everyone can see the stage.

While we love the venue itself, the location also makes for a great night out at the Battery. There are many bars and restaurants surrounding the area. You can easily make an entire evening out without getting back into your car. It’s a great spot for dinner and a show.

Buckhead Theatre

Neighborhood: Buckhead

Buckhead Theatre is a historic theater located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. The venue has a capacity of about 1,800. Interestingly, this theater used to be known as the Coca Cola Roxy, before its renovation in 2010.

Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood

Neighborhood: Lakewood Heights

Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood is an outdoor amphitheater just south of Atlanta. The location has over 75 acres and is nestled in the woods.

At over 18,900 seating capacity, this is a very large outdoor music venue in Atlanta. Therefore, it usually hosts some very popular musicians. There are about 7,000 reserved seats and a very large lawn that can fit about 12,000 more.

Lakewood Amphitheater is located at 2002 Lakewood Way SW, Atlanta, GA 30315


Cadence Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park

Neighborhood: Buckhead

Cadence Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park has a long history of concerts in Atlanta. In fact, it opened in 1944, making it the oldest music venue in Atlanta.

Given that it is an outdoor amphitheater, it usually only hosts concerts in the summertime.

The Chastain Park amphitheater in Buckhead has capacity for just about 6,900 fans, mostly reserved seating.

Cadence Bank Amphitheater is located at 4469 Stella Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30342


Center Stage Theater/The Loft/Vinyl

Neighborhood: Midtown Atlanta

Center Stage Theater is a concert venue in Atlanta with three music venues in one! The Center stage is the biggest, with a capacity of just over 1,000. The Loft has a capacity of 650. Vinyl is the smallest of the three with capacity of about 300.

Terminal West

Neighborhood: West Midtown

Located in the King Plow Arts Center, Terminal West is smaller music venue in Atlanta, with a capacity of just over 600. The venue is standing room only.

There is a great rooftop deck and a restaurant on site.

Terminal West is located at 887 West Marietta St NW C, Atlanta, GA 30318


Variety Playhouse

Neighborhood: Little Five Points

Located in the Little Five Points neighborhood in Atlanta, The Variety Playhouse is great, smaller venue at just over 1,000, is perfect for a night out in Atlanta.

The seating is generally first come first serve.

The Variety Playhouse is located at 1099 Euclid Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307


Matildas

Neighborhood: Milton

Matilda’s is a small, outdoor concert venue near Atlanta that offer something unique. Great music, outdoors and under the pine tree’s.

With seating for about 250, patrons enjoy bringing dinner, drinks and light candles while listening to great music, in a beautiful setting.

Matildas is located at 850 Hickory Flat Rd, Milton, GA 30004
