We recently attended our first ballgame at the new Atlanta Braves Stadium. I know, it is not that new and it’s actually called Truist Park, now that the merger of Sun Trust and BB&T Bank is complete.

For our first Braves game at the new stadium, we did it in style. We were lucky enough to get tickets behind the plate, in the club level with the amazing padded chairs. It also included access to the Delta Club, which I will cover later, if you are ever interested in that part. I am not sure I would pay the asking price, but given the opportunity, these seats make for a great experience.

Why Attend a Braves Game At Atlanta Braves Stadium

The excitement of live baseball at the Atlanta Braves stadium, is more than just the game. It’s about the experience of going to the ballpark. Sampling the food. Listening to the hecklers ramble on about nonsense. Being part of the Tomahawk Chop and maybe participating in the wave. For me, I just enjoy the outdoors while under the stadium lights. Not to mention a Terrapin Los Bravos or two.

If you enjoy competitive baseball, any Braves fan will tell you they won the World Series in 2021 over the Astro’s.

The Brave’s have a long history of winning. From 1991 to 2005, the Atlanta Braves won 14 consecutive division titles. The Braves advanced to the World series 5 times in the 90’s and won the 1995 World Series.

Yet, It’s not only about seeing a winning team. The Atlanta Braves Stadium is rather stunning and worth the visit alone. Plus, who wouldn’t love going just for the food, even if you weren’t a baseball fan.

Where to Sit at Truist Park

home plate at Truist Park

Lucky for us, we were in the club right behind home plate. These are arguably the best seats in the stadium. Although, we were a little more than 10 rows back, but no complaints at all.

The first few rows include TV broadcast of the game. Is this excessive? You can be the the judge of that.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with most seats at the stadium. The worst seats are probably deep in the outfield or on the upper side of the outfield.

The New Braves Stadium Location

Just 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, you will find Truist Park, in Cumberland, part of Cobb County. It is part of what is now known as The Battery Atlanta. The Battery officially opened in 2017. The Battery is full of restaurants and entertainment venue’s, including the Atlanta Braves stadium.

Parking at Truist Park

Make a plan. Driving around the ball park is not fun during game day. My best recommendation is to reserve parking in advance and know exactly the route you will take to the lot. If you are unsure of the location of your lot, you will be circling the stadium looking for the lot while trying to avoid the many pedestrians and traffic gridlock.

You can find more details for paid parking here and here is a link to the map of the parking decks.

Parking is not free on game days. Expect to pay $30 to $50.

The Red deck has free parking when there are no games.

Food at Truist Park

Terrapin Taproom and Fox Bros’ BBQ is attached to the ballpark. You can access in from outside or inside the stadium. It is located between Right Field Gate and Chophouse Gate. If you are up for some of the best Atlanta chicken wings, Fox Bros’ BBQ has been smoking Texas style barbeque in Atlanta since 2007 from their location in Candler Park.

Coors Light Chophouse is more of a reserved, private venue with a deck overlooking right field. It’s cheaper than some of the other clubs, but isn’t all you can drink. It has a $15 credit for brews.

H&F Burger is another restaurant that can be accessed from the lawn in Battery Atlanta or from inside the Truist Park.

Classic Concessions are available like hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts, popcorn and even pizza. If you are looking for a full menu of options, the ballpark app will provide full menu options.

Restaurants Near Truist Park in Battery Atlanta

restaurants at the Atlanta Battery

If you are looking for a place to eat and down some drinks before the game or just visiting the Battery Atlanta, there are many places to walk to from Truist Park.

All of these places are an easy walk from the ball park. There are more restaurants around, but most likely you would need to drive.

  • Wahlburgers is a burger chain serving some delicous burgers brought to you from the famous Wahlberg family.
  • Superica is a small Tex-Mex chain that also serves a great margarita.
  • Yard House is a high end sports bar chain with a large selection of beers on draft.
  • Garden and Gun Club is a southern style restaurant that also features some great hand crafted cocktails.
  • Antico Pizza is one of our favorite Atlanta based pizza chains and features traditional Italian style pizza.
  • PH’EAST is Asian style food that resembles street food that is prepared in the hawker markets in Asia.

The Delta Club at Truist Park

Our tickets included access to the Delta club. I had no idea what we were in for. It is not cheap, but if your wallet can stand it, you will have more food available than on a cruise ship.

Food at the Delta Club

I sampled just about everything I could stomach. From what I can remember, there is:

  • A very large pizza station. Unfortunately, I was too full by the time I saw it so I can’t tell you if it is any good or not.
  • Street Taco’s – I tried the beef and the shrimp taco’s. Both were excellent.
  • Nacho station: These nacho’s were covered in a spicy pulled pork and were drizzled in queso. I opted to add some chili and guacamole.
  • Slider’s and Chili Dogs – This is the stuff I love about the ball park. A simple hot dog covered in chili with cheese. Is there anything better? The sliders were decent, but not great.

Drinks at the Delta Club

The Delta club includes all you can drink beer and wine. They had Terrapin’s controversial Los Bravos on draft. The name of the beer is under contention because the Braves is trademarked. They also had Coors light and Blue Moon. I wasn’t up for wine, so I didn’t sample what they had.

They had a full bar, so I thought I would have a mixed drink upon arrival, before I knew the beer was free. I had a vodka and soda. It wasn’t worth it. $17 for a single vodka and soda. No thanks.

  1. Very nice park! Some of the pricing is way over the top. Like parking was 40 bucks an we had to walk back about a mile.I would like to have found an iced coffee station or a healthy smoothie vendor.
