If you are interested in knowing the stats and seeing the 7 tallest buildings in the Atlanta skyline, you are in the right spot. We have tracked them down and ranked them by height, in feet and by number of floors tall.

If you are familiar with the Atlanta skyline, you know the cityscape is sprawling. Many other cities are densely condensed, but in Atlanta, there are high rises all over the metro Atlanta area. The are found in the Atlanta neighborhoods from downtown to midtown, Buckhead and even the king and queen in Dunwoody.

Unfortunately the king and queen buildings did not rank here, even though they are one of the most iconic high rise landmarks in metro Atlanta.

So which are the tallest buildings in Atlanta’s skyline?

1 – Bank of America Plaza

  • Floors: 55
  • Year Built: 1992

Located between Midtown and Downtown Atlanta, the Bank of America Plaza ranks as the tallest building in Atlanta and the state of Georgia.

The Bank of America plaza has 55 floors of office space and has a longer history of ownership sales.

2 -Truist Plaza

Year Built: 1992

The second tallest building in Atlanta is the Truist Plaza. It was renamed in 2021 following the merger of BB&T Bank and SunTrust Bank.

This building survived the 2008 tornado that swept through Atlanta. Portman Holdings owned this building when it was known as One Peachtree Center. They sold a large ownership stake to Sun Trust Bank and was renamed upon the sale. Portman still retains ownership and leases out space.

3 – One Atlantic Center

Year Built: 1987

One Atlantic Center resembles the Chicago Tribune Tower as it also has a similar shape and gothic accents. On the top of this building is a copper tip, with great lighting at night.

4 – 191 Peachtree Tower

Height:  770 ft
Floors: 50
Year Built: 1992

This skyscraper is located in the central business district in Atlanta. The building is made of granite, with grey tinted glass windows. On top are dual crowns that almost appear castlesque in aesthetics, which light up at night. The building is currently subdivided and leased to many corporations and Fortune 500 companies.

5 – Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel

Height:  723 ft
Floors: 73
Year Built: 1976

The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel is the cylindrical shaped building located in the central business district in downtown Atlanta. It’s exterior is all reflective glass.

This landmark hotel features over a 1,068 guest rooms and 200,000 square feet of space for meetings and events. It is also the tallest hotel in Atlanta.

The top floor houses the iconic Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View, one of the best downtown Atlanta restaurants.

The Westin suffered window damage from the 2008 tornado.

6 – Georgia Pacific Tower

Floors: 51
Year Built: 1981

Almost resembling a staircase on the backside of the building, the Georgia Pacific Tower is made out of pink granite. On the very top of the building you will find theblue triangle featuring the GP logo.

This building serves as the headquarters for Georgia Pacific, but also includes a few other leased out office spaces to other corporations.

7 – Promenade II


Height:  691 ft
Floors: 40
Year Built: 1989

The Promenade II is located in Midtown Atlanta. The building is primary used as office space for single or multi-tenants.

The building itself is made with reflective glass and has unique tapering towards the top of the building.
