I am on a quest to find the best Peruvian food in Atlanta and below you will find a few places serving just that. My enjoyment of Peruvian food started long ago, while paired with a Pisco sour, in Cusco.
It has been almost 15 years since that night I arrived at midnight in Lima. Slept a few hours, then took a short flight to spend a few days in Cusco for acclimation (at 11,152′.) After days of hiking and eating around Cusco, we crammed in a van early one morning. The next few hours were spent twisting and turning through the Sacred Valley of Inca’s. Finally, we arrived in Piscacucho to start our journey following the classic Inca Trail.
Besides the once in a lifetime memories filled with adventure, there were also the intoxicating flavors and aroma’s shared with friends after long days hiking. Where yes, I even sampled Alpaca. However, I could not try the guinea pig (my wife objected.)
As a frequent paleo dieter, the one food I love is the Pollo a la Brasa. This is marinated whole chicken roasted rotisserie style.
The other thing I remember loving on the trail was the variety of potatoes. Every night, there was a different variety on the menu. I don’t remember potatoes tasting so good.
