If you are looking for a quaint bookstore in Atlanta with loads of charm and an obvious knowledge of literature, complete with hand written book recommendations, Virginia Highland Books is a must see bookstore.

If you have little kids, they will absolutely love Little Shop of Stories in Decatur. With many events both live and virtual, your kids will surely walk away with a greater appreciation for reading.

A Cappella Books
Located near Little Five Points, A Cappella books has been selling books since 1989 and survived through the internet revolution and multiple business relocations. They are curating some of the best books of our time. The bookstore is vibrant and full of events. Check their calendar for upcoming events and book signings.

44th and 3rd Bookseller
This family owned, niche bookstore in Atlanta has been home to curating book selections for over 30 years. This multi-cultural bookstore focuses on “unbiased literature that is true to the rich culture of excellence experienced and expressed in the Black community world-wide.” Each month they curate a few books called the “Flavor of the Month.”

Bookish Atlanta
Bookish Atlanta bookstore is one of those charming bookstores you walk into, and then spend way more time browsing than you thought you would. They have a great selection of new and used books and also have great recommendations for kids books.

FoxTale Book Shoppe
This is a quaint, mom and pop style bookstore in Woodstock that is a must see. One thing unique about Foxtale is that they also offer a monthly creative writing class. Be sure to check out the events calendar.

Johns Creek Books and Gifts
Located in the Medlock Bridge Shopping Center in Johns Creek, this bookstore is the perfect spot to find a recommendation for fiction, nonfiction or a children’s book.

Atlanta Vintage Books
For over 30 years this primarily gently-used book store has served the community with both contemporary and out of print books. They do have a small collection of rare and vintage books as well, if you are looking for something special.

Posman Books
Atlanta is lucky to be home to two locations of this small indie bookstore, that also has locations in New York and Boston. This is a family owned business, that started selling college text books and since, has been in the book store industry for 50 years. Stop by, you will leave a little happier on the way out.
They have a location in Ponce Market downtown Atlanta and in the Avalon in Alpharetta.
