Wills Park is a massive park and one of the many fun things to do in Alpharetta. It really has everything you could want from a park. It has many attractions like 1.6 miles of paved walking trails, an equestrian center, tennis courts, baseball fields, disc golf course, playgrounds and even a pool.

You could easily spend days exploring everything inside in the park. There are many activities at the community center and special events that bring the local back to the Wills park, time and again.

Wills Park Pool

The pool at Wills Park was recently renovated and it now has a zero entry leisure pool for the kids, a fun waterslide and a 10 lane competition pool. There are two diving boards available as well. You can either pay per visit or you can pool pass for the family.

Check the pool website for a complete overview of hours and current prices.

Wills Park Community Center

The Alpharetta community center has two gyms and activity rooms. The calendar of classes is lengthy. Check out the schedule here.

Wills Park Equestrian Center

If you are looking for a horse show or rodeo, Wills park has one of the only parks in the area with an equestrian center. It has almost 300 stalls and both covered and uncovered rings of different sizes.

Sports Fields

At Wills Park, baseball fields rule the park. You will not find other sports fields here like soccer or football. But, what you will find is many little league fields that become utterly packed during the season. There are a total of 7 grass baseball fields, 1 synthetic turf baseball field, and 2 tee-ball fields.

Tennis Courts

There are a total of 6 courts and a few of them can be reserved here. There are 2 courts which are first come, first serve. The remaining courts and are reserved for camps and instruction.

Playgrounds

There are three separate playground areas at Wills Park. By far the wooden playground, called Wacky World gets the most play time. My kids love this play ground and always meet up with new friends.

Disc Golf

Disc golf hole along the creek.

The disc golf course, one of the many disc golf courses in metro Atlanta, starts near the tennis courts and winds it way along the small creek. Most of the holes are deep in the woods with lots of tree coverage making it a challenging course.

The only bad part about this course is that a few of the holes are in close proximity to the main walking trail. Many times, I have to wait a few minutes to throw just to make sure I don’t hit anyone.

Park by the basketball and tennis courts on Wills Road for easy access to the golf course.

Dog Park

The Waggy World dog park is one of the many great dog parks in metro Atlanta.

Just behind the community center is about 1.5 acres set aside for the pups to frolic and socialize. If you want a close parking spot, use the parking lot at the Alpharetta Community Center off of Roswell Street. It is the closest to the dog park.

While not a comprehensive list of rules, a few helpful things to note about the small dog section:

  • Dogs under 4 months are not allowed
  • Dogs under 25 pounds are permitted in the small dog section
  • All dogs are welcome in the large dog section.
  • Water fountain is available for pups.
  • Wills park has about 1.6 mile loop of paved walking trails. Dog must be on leash.

For a full list of rules, check Waggy Worlds website.

Events

While there are many events at Wills park, a few of my families favorite events are:

  • July 4th Fireworks – We bring our small lawn chairs and a blanket and sit out in the park and enjoy the show.
  • Rodeo – Usually in May, the Rodeo finals are a fun event. The kids love the funnel cakes, pony rides and rock wall climbing. There are plenty of other activities.
  • Touch a Truck – Our kids love getting behind the wheel and exploring the many trucks and service vehicles.
