Before the Atlanta Hawks game, we wanted to find a downtown Atlanta restaurant that was in the Centennial Park district to enjoy a couple brews and get a bite to eat. I’ve been wanting to try Der Biergarten. However, it was raining and all the inside seats were taken. So, we thought we would try STATS Brewpub.

If you visited this website before, you know that I am trying to visit every Atlanta Brewery. This brew pub was not on my radar.

Perhaps it is because this is more of a sports bar than a brewery. They don’t seem to brew on location, but I may be wrong. I didn’t see any brewing equipment, but the place is enormous so I could have missed it.

Here was our experience at STATS brewpub.

STATS Brewpub Restaurant

This is a very large restaurant. On the main floor, there is a large bar, with plenty of sits at the bar and around. The entire top of the bar is lined with TV’s, making this a perfect place to watch a game.

In fact, just about every seat in the entire restaurant has a view of the TV.

Just past the bar is the main dining area.

Upstairs, which we did not visit due to the heavy rain, is a large rooftop bar.

The Food And Beer At STATS Brewpub

Once we were escorted to our table, we ordered two pretzel appetizers for the table. My son loves soft pretzels, and I am sucker for the beer cheese dip. They came with a sprinkle of everything seasoning. They were good.

I ordered one of their IPA’s, but they were out of it. They recommended the Pale Ale. It was not my favorite beer. It drank heavy and didn’t have much flavor or hops. If I go again, I would probably order off the non-brewpub beer list and go for a Wild Leap IPA or just a Heineken.

double cheeseburger from STATs brewpub

For dinner I ordered the double cheeseburger with two extras, jalapenos and bacon. It definitely hit the spot, but in my opinion, doesn’t rank on our best burger in Atlanta list.

It lacked spice, succulence and flavor, even with the extras.

The large brioche bun took over the burger. Usually I like these buns when there is a lot of sauce on the burger, but this didn’t come with sauce. Finally, at nearly $20 for the burger, there are better spots for a burger at this price.

Overall, The service we experienced at STATS brewpub was just ok. They brought my son a coke, instead of a sprite. I had to ask for appetizer plates when the pretzels came out. I also had to ask for silverware and napkins when dinner arrived.

Overall, this is a good sports bar, in the heart of the city of Atlanta. The location, surrounded by all the stadiums and arenas is spot on.
