Along the most dense section of Canton Street, you will find one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Roswell. Roux on Roswell is a cozy, neighborhood restaurant featuring southern inspired dishes and pub classics.
We visited over winter break, just after 1pm, after we finished a beautiful hike at Island Ford Park, part of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area.
Needless to say, we were very hungry and downtown Roswell was crowded with lunch goers and day drinkers.
We found a table next to the bar. It was a quirky table with two chairs and an L shaped bench. What made it unusual was that it was also a high top table. We didn’t mind, we would have sat anywhere to get service.
Roux Restaurant in Roswell, GA
The restaurant is rather small. There is a L shaped bar, perfect for happy hour. There are may be 20 tables in the restaurant, if I had to guess.
It makes up for size by being extremely quaint and charming. Just what you would expect for downtown Roswell.
The Food At Roux on Canton St.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Roux. Starting with the service, it was amazing. Everything was paced well, and we received everything as communicated. They even put in the kids burgers straight away, as we told them they were hungry from the hiking.
My wife’s burger stole the show. It looked (and tasted) amazing. I had to take a few bites. I had burger envy. She ordered Roux’s Blue burger. It comes with Blackened angus burger, hickory smoked bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, fried jalapenos, lettuce, tomato & Creole remoulade.
This is a big, messy burger that is loaded with smoky, spicy flavor. The blue cheese makes everything work together.
The bun was big enough to contain everything that was going on inside the burger.
It was just amazing and I will be adding it to our list of the best burgers in Atlanta.
I ordered the Jambalaya.
It was spicy, but not over the top. Just right.
The andouille had the right amount of heat. The portion appeared small, but I ended up taking half of it home for leftovers. It was just the warming, comfort food I was craving after a cold hike.
My parents were in town, they could not get over talking about the fish taco’s they ordered. I didn’t try it, but they looked and smelled fantastic.
