Blueberry picking in Atlanta is always a hot endeavor. Usually the berries are producing by early July, just in time for the weather to really heat up for summer time.
The official blueberry season near Atlanta typically runs from mid June through August, depending on the location around Atlanta and weather conditions.
We usually go blueberry picking in early July and we found it a great time to pick berries.
This is an annual family tradition for us. Blueberry picking is a great way to get the kids excited to eat something healthy! The kids devoured handfuls of blueberries.
If you are looking for a farm to go blueberry picking near Atlanta, we uncovered a few great places.
Note: Many of these farms have varying hours. We have found that it is best to call ahead to see how well the blueberry bushes are producing before taking a long drive.

Berry Patch Farms
Neighborhood: Woodstock
Berry Patch Farms has been one of my families favorite places to go for pumpkins at Halloween. However, their berry bushes are large and mature. They are plenty of blueberries (and blackberries) being grown on this farm.
We went blueberry picking at Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock more than once. On our last visit, we ended up hauling four pounds of berries home!

Scottsdale Farm
Neighborhood: Milton
This is more than just a tree nursery. Scottsdale Farm hosts plenty of family fun events like blueberry picking. While the blueberry bushes are not full grown, they do produce a lot of fruit.
It is also not very crowed, so there were plenty of berry to pick. The kids loved it because they could reach most of the berries on the bush.
They also loved all the interactions encounters animals on the farm.

DJ’s U-Pick Blueberry Farm
Neighborhood: Lawrenceville
Just minutes from the Mall of Georgia, DJ’s U-Pick Blueberry Farm is a excellent place for the entire family. They supply a bucket and you can pick as many blueberries as you want.
They have farm animals that you kids can feed. Veggies and fresh bread only.

Tuckaway Blueberry Farm
Neighborhood: Loganville
This is a family owned farm and the family lives on the property. They suggest the best picking time is in the morning, before it heats up. They recommend close toed shoes on their property.

Southern Belle Farm
Neighborhood: McDonough
Southern Belle Farm is a large family run farm that goes back generations. While they pretty much have family fun activities during the year, the summertime is blueberry season.

5 Sons Farm
Neighborhood: Talking Rock
Heading up towards Blue Ridge from Atlanta in the town of Talking Rock is 5 Sons Farm. This farm specializes in heirloom tomatoes and blueberries, of course.
Their blueberry picking season usually ends by mid to late July, so plan on calling ahead if you are making the drive up to the area.
