Who doesn’t love a great steakhouse? Luckily, living in Atlanta, there are many great steakhouses found in and around the metro area. Pampas Steakhouse is definitely one of the best steakhouses near Atlanta.

Pampas is a Argentinian style steakhouse. When they say Argentinian style, they mean two things.

First, they feature a diverse set of steak cuts. Many of the steak cuts, you will not find in the average steakhouse in Atlanta.

Second, Pampas cooks the steak over a wood fire grill and a bank of hot coals.

The restaurant caters to an upscale clientele. Most of the people were dressed in a upscale casual dress, although I did see one or two in casual dress. The elevated dress is expected when you see the wood paneling, impeccable service and high priced entrees.

Pampas Steakhouse Location

Pampas in located in John’s Creek, just off of State Bridge Road. The restaurant stands alone, but is located across the street from a Kroger shopping complex.

Upon arriving you must choose to either utilize the complementary valet or park yourself. We decided to park ourselves because we do not love the unnecessary suburban valet service. However, after circling the lot, there were no spots to park and most of the parking lot is reserved for valet anyway.

Maybe just make the valet required?

Anyway, the service from the time you enter the parking lot until you leave the restaurant is impeccable. You will see multiple managers roaming the floor to ensure nothing is missed in the service.

I can attest, this restaurant has some of the best service I have ever seen.

But how about the food?

The Food At Pampas Steakhouse

This was actually my second time dining at Pampas. The first time was years ago at a work function. I remember the food vividly. That time I ordered the “brick,” which is a 14oz center cut filet. I remember it being one of the best steaks I ever ate. I wish ordered it again, but I want to try something different.

This time, I ordered one of the special cuts.

Before ordering, the waiter will bring to the table a plate of uncooked specials. Today these were all wet aged steaks and chops. They take time explaining the qualities of each steak.

I went with the cowboy (cowgirl) bone in ribeye. This is a trimmed ribeye, with great marbling. I wanted something more lean, but was in the mood for a ribeye. It was cooked perfectly to medium, as ordered. I did miss the fat and flavor that comes with a traditional ribeye, but I would definitely order this again.

My wife ordered the 8oz filet. It was excellent. Juicy, tender and a little hint of smoke from the Argentinian grill.

Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes

For sides we chose the Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. The Brussels spouts and cauliflower had an amazing flavor. I am pretty sure it was seasoned and had balsamic on it, yet had a sweetness I couldn’t place. They were incredible.

Pampas is located at 10970 State Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30022
