What even is Boba?
“Boba tea” is a general term for a broad category of drinks. The primary components of Boba tea are simply black tea, ice, milk and chewy tapioca pearls.
These items are mixed in a cup and shaken up.
Boba as a category, could also include bubble tea, which is preferred on the east coast. While other boba could be a blend of fresh fruit juice and added fruit bubble bits inside.
What is Boba Tea Versus Bubble Tea?
Boba tea and bubble tea are actually referring to the same thing. However, bubble tea is the drink itself, boba is the name of the tapioca pearls inside of the tea. There are many other names that are used interchangeably, like pearl tea, milk tea or pearl milk tea. They are all referring to the same idea, bubble tea. Many of the names get swapped based on the region of the world you are in.
In Atlanta, usually I hear people say bubble tea or boba.

While the popularity of boba tea is well known, as far as I have seen, the big coffee chains haven’t taken notice, yet.

Does Dunkin Donuts have Boba Tea in Atlanta?
